After research we obtain high-resolution scans of the originals from museums and libraries like the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, the Allard Pierson Museum, Wageningen University and Research, Missouri Botanical garden, the New York Botanical Garden and the Royal Library in the Hague.
We aim to bring botanical heritage - safely stored in the archives of renowned and lesser-known museums and natural history organizations worldwide - into the public eye and into people’s lives. Instead of focusing on the well-known masterpieces, we seek out hidden gems - artworks that remain largely undiscovered, yet hold fascinating stories and showcase the impact of botanical artists on their time.
This is our tribute to the botanical artists and scientists who, with immense dedication, created these works, which remain invaluable for the study of plant biodiversity today.
The work they created gave the public a new perspective on nature in the 15th - 18th century - it sparked wonder and fostered a deeper respect for the natural world. Now, three centuries later, we need to rediscover that sense of awe and look at nature through a fresh lens. We believe that the wonderful work of past botanical artists can give us that lens.
At Rich Heritage, we breathe new life into antique botanical plates. Using Photoshop, we carefully remove the yellowed patina of time, allowing the focus to rest on the most captivating details of each botanical illustration. By placing these restored works in a fresh, modern context, we enhance the beauty of the botanical artist’s craft, ensuring it shines in contemporary interiors.
Exceptional botanical heritage deserves equally exceptional paper. That’s why we chose Tintoretto Gesso, 350 gsm a premium, durable paper known for its sturdy texture and soft matte finish. This paper brings the details of each illustration to life, making them both visually striking and tangible to the touch.
Rich Heritage artworks are designed to be displayed without traditional frames. For our fine art prints, we recommend hanging them using a clip on a black nail - both of which are included free of charge. If you prefer a framed look, the fine art prints can easily be framed to suit your style. Our high-quality aluminum prints, however, are intentionally frameless, creating a cohesive and modern display when arranged as a set.
With great care and attention, we beautifully wrap the botanical art piece you’ve selected. Each set is elegantly packaged in a black luxury gift box with a sturdy magnetic closure. This high-quality gift box not only protects the artwork but also serves as a stunning presentation for gifting botanical art from Rich Heritage to friends or family.
In addition to showcasing the work of botanical artists, we love to share their stories and the lives behind the art. Alongside your artwork, you’ll also receive the inspiring narrative that brings the piece to life.
Let our Fine Art Botanicals collection bring the timeless elegance
of illustrations of plants into your life.
